Canggu

Kuta, Legian and Seminyak all started out as separate villages, but these days they have merged into one bustling complex of shops, restaurants, bars and small, artisanal production units. Canggu is the somewhat isolated area bordering the northern side of this giant entertainment zone, comprising of an excellent surfing beach, lots of smaller, cheap losmen-type of accommodation and very little upscale places to stay. If you frequently dine out at night, you'll have to resort to some of the trendiest restaurants around in the nearby Seminyak area. Take note that the current at Berawa beach is strong and you are advised against swimming in the sea.
